Flannel Friday: There's a Castle in the Middle of the Moat

Hi, all! I thought I'd share a flannel on this Flannel Friday that's served me well in the past.

There's a Castle in the Middle of the Moat. And it's going to get crazy!

I got the idea for this flannel from Mel's Desk and adjusted the song only slightly for what I wanted. It turned out to be a lot of fun, once I learned that I should sing it slow so that the kids can sing along (it gets pretty hard by the last verse!).

Song: In the Middle of the Moat
There’s a castle in the middle of the moat (clap, clap)
There’s a castle in the middle of the moat (clap, clap)
There’s a castle, there’s a castle,
There’s a castle in the moat. (clap, clap)

There’s a throne in the castle in the middle of the moat…
There’s a king on the throne in the castle in the middle of the moat…
There’s a crown on the king on the throne in the castle in the middle of the moat…

If you're really confident, you could even go as far as: There's a jewel in the crown on the king on the throne in the castle in the middle of the moat... (Phew, just thinking about it makes me tired! Ha!)

I used this for my Kingdom Storytime, but it'd work for just about any fantasy/castle themed stories. Or the tune is pretty flexible to do just about anything you want, really. It's a lot of fun--give it a try!
